“Bangladesh Students Demand To End up Reservation Quotas, Spark Curfew Violence”

Incident Overview:

Bangladesh students are actively engaged in protests demanding the government revoke its reservation quota system. The protests have been sparked on large scale and demanding the fair system of government job quota. Due to less government job opportunities over the huge population, the movement took place and still on the ground. Amidst rising up the fire around Dhaka, Sheikh Hasina government asked to impose the curfew all over the Capital and shutting down the internet access due to which the situation is critical still.  

“What includes in Reservation?”

The government job reservation were introduced after the Bangladesh independence from Pakistan in 1971. The reservation policies were mainly include relatives of the freedom fighters , ethnic minorities, people of underdeveloped districts and disabled person. In addition, the total 56percent of the government jobs were reserved in which 30percent for the relatives of the freedom fighters, 10%percent for the women, 10percent for the people of underdeveloped districts, 5percent for minorities and 1percent for physically disabled persons. Due to the less government job opportunities, people are fighting for the fair policy on government job quota that would offer equal opportunities for all.

He mentioned that Indian Nationals are advised to avoid the local travel and stop going outside their home.
